Sutton’s Christians are working together to make a difference.
Celebrate Sutton is the name of meetings organised to mark the growing impact that the Church is having in Sutton through
cross-denominational projects.
Celebrating the Lord Jesus Christ and the many church- based projects that are making
a positive impact upon the community
Twice in 2006 Celebrate Sutton drew people together from the area to honour the Lord Jesus Christ through praise & worship and to hear our guest speakers, Terry Virgo, leader of the New Frontiers network of churches, and the Rt Revd Nick Baines, Bishop of Croydon.
A third successful event was held in September of 2007 when Rev Sarah Mullally DBE, Rector for the Sutton Team, addressed the subject ‘Making a Difference’.
An important part of each event was the exhibition by many of these joint projects and organisations.
Find out more about these by going to our Participating Groups page. The 2007 event included some
new exhibitors.
Behind many of these initiatives are the healthy relationships between the leaders of the local congregations, who meet regularly in various groupings. One such is the ‘Leaders’ Breakfast’ which has been running for many years. Find out more from their web site.
Our next event is on Friday 17th October this year when we are really pleased to have Rev Steve Chalke MBE as our guest speaker. The format will be similar to previous occasions with the addition of a special afternoon sessionwith Steve, for church leaders. Find out ore on another page.
